Overview

BD (BDaemon) is a personal AI companion app. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

What we collect

  • Account information — your email address, used to create and authenticate your account.
  • Conversation data — messages you send to BD and BD's responses. This is how BD builds its understanding of you over time.
  • Memory data — key facts BD extracts from your conversations, such as your goals, relationships, preferences, and important events.
  • Profile information — name, city, occupation, and routine details you choose to share during onboarding or in settings.
  • Files and media — photos, PDFs and other files you share with BD. These are stored securely via Cloudinary.
  • Device token — used to deliver push notifications from BD. Never shared with third parties.

What we do not collect

  • We do not collect your contacts, location, or browsing history.
  • We do not sell your data to advertisers or third parties.
  • We do not use your conversations to train AI models.
  • We do not share your personal information with anyone outside of the services required to operate BD.

How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to:
  • Provide BD's core experience — personalised, context-aware conversations.
  • Send proactive messages and push notifications from BD.
  • Improve the quality and relevance of BD's memory and responses.
  • Maintain the security and integrity of your account.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Railway). Files are stored via Cloudinary with restricted access. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

Third-party services

BD uses the following third-party services to operate:
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI inference. Your messages are processed by Claude to generate BD's responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing.
  • Cloudinary — file and image storage.
  • Resend — email delivery for authentication codes.
  • Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — push notification delivery.

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Upon deletion, your conversations, memories, and profile information will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Children's privacy

BD is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Your rights

You have the right to:
  • Access the personal data BD holds about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of BD after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
